Indications:
- The Service Log reports that 'Monitor Scan is 4096 Minutes Behind Actual Time' and it never catches up.
- When Chaperon 2000 for ISA is started, the Service Log indicates the following: GMT Bias = 4096 minutes
Versions Affected:
- This error only affects machines running Chaperon 2000 [patch w] for ISA where the machine's time zone is set to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) or any other time zone which is ahead of GMT (e.g. Amsterdam +1:00GMT; Athens +2:00GMT, etc.)
- Any machine that is in a location to the west of the Greenwich Meridian and whose time zone settings are correct will not be affected by this problem.
Cause:
- Chaperon 2000 misinterprets any time zone that is greater than or equal to GMT bias (+0:00) as being 4096 minutes behind actual time.
Solution:
Update Chaperon 2000 to the latest version. See Tech Note T0001.
Status:
This issue is fixed in 2.1.12 [Patch X] and later versions of Chaperon 2000 for ISA.
