SYMPTOMS:
When you run the Surrogate Socket Service Control program, you receive the dialog box shown below:

The Surrogate Socket service will not start.
CURRENT STATUS:
This problem occurs when the file surrogatesocket.mdb in the Surrogate Socket directory becomes corrupt. This may occur if the NT Server abnormally terminates due to a trap or power failure.
RESOLUTION:
Download the file SSRepair.exe from our web site and save it in the Surrogate Socket directory, then run it. This program will check the database file for corruption and repair it if required.
