If your copy of Surrogate Socket is not on the Internet, or is unable to use FTP, the normal Update process of Surrogate Socket will not work properly. These instructions allow you to manually update Surrogate Socket to the latest version.

1. Make sure the Surrogate Socket Service Control program IS NOT running.
2. Download the update file SSUpgrdX.exe and the update batch file manupgrd.batand save them in the UPGRADE directory below the Surrogate Socket directory. If your copy of Surrogate Socket is installed in C:\Program Files\SurrogateSocket, the default, you would save the files in C:\Program Files\SurrogateSocket\Upgrade
3. Open a command prompt and change directory to the UPGRADE directory below the Surrogate Socket directory. If your copy of Surrogate Socket is installed in C:\Program Files\Surrogate Socket, the default, you would enter:

c:
cd "\Program Files\Surrogate Socket\Upgrade"

from the comand prompt.

1. From the command prompt, type manupgrd.bat and follow the instructions.
2. After the upgrade completes, open the Surrogate Socket Service Control program to verify the upgrade completed successfully.
